I Work Hard So My Cat Can Live Comfortably: A Pixel-Art Shirt for Devoted Cat People (and Gift Ideas)
A pixel-art ginger tabby and a wink: I work HARD for my CAT to live comfortably, on tees, hoodies, mugs and gifts for every cat person.
Every cat person knows the arrangement. You get up early, answer the emails, sit through the meetings and cycle home in the drizzle. Meanwhile, someone with whiskers has spent nine hours asleep in the one patch of sunlight in the flat. I Work Hard So My Cat Can Live Comfortably is our newest Spirituali-Tee design, and it finally says it out loud.
The artwork is a pixel-art ginger tabby with bright green eyes, set on bold blocks of sunflower yellow, magenta and teal. Above it: “I work HARD” and, a little smaller, “for my CAT”. Below it: “to live comfortably”. The design comes on the full collection, from a classic crewneck tee to a mug and a tote.

Why this phrase
It’s a joke, of course, and that’s half the point. We take a lot of things to heart at Spirituali-Tee, and being able to laugh at ourselves is one of them. But under the joke there is something we really like: caring for an animal quietly turns ordinary work into an act of love. The early alarm, the bills and the long day all add up to a full bowl, a soft blanket and fresh water for someone who can’t say thank you, except by sitting on your keyboard.
Purpose doesn’t always look grand. Sometimes it looks like a sleeping cat on a sunny cushion, and the knowledge that you made that cushion possible. Wearing the shirt is a small, cheerful way of saying: I know what my work is for.
The 8-bit style is a wink at the screens most of us work at all day, and the cat in the picture has exactly the expression of a supervisor who has never attended a meeting.
Ways to wear it
- Everyday: the unisex crewneck tee in 12 colours, from Gold and Kiwi to Forest Green and Black, for the commute, the office or the vet’s waiting room.
- Home-office uniform: the crewneck sweatshirt in 14 colours, soft enough for long video calls.
- Cosy layers: the heavy-blend unisex hoodie for chilly walks home, and our super-soft premium hoodie for sofa evenings with a lap-cat.
- Warm days: the tank top, for the gym or a slow Sunday stretch (the cat will claim the yoga mat anyway).
- Beyond clothing: a mug for the coffee you pour once the boss has been fed, and a cotton tote for the cat-food run.

Gift ideas
- For the colleague who fills the team chat with cat photos: the mug, with a coloured rim, inside and handle.
- For a friend who just adopted a cat: the tote or a tee, so every pet-shop trip comes with a grin.
- For new parents who already have a cat: the baby bodysuit. New baby, same boss.
- For young cat fans: the kids hoodie, warm for school runs and sleepovers.
- For a partner who works from home with a furry supervisor: the sweatshirt or the premium hoodie.
- For yourself: someone has to pay for the cat food.
Made to order, on purpose
Every I Work Hard piece is printed on demand when you order it. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for a buyer, so we don’t overproduce, and your piece is made just for you. It takes a few extra days, and we think that’s a fair trade for wasting less.
Caring for your print
Wash your garment inside out on a cool, gentle cycle, tumble dry low or hang it to dry, and don’t iron directly on the print, so the colours stay bright. Mugs are dishwasher and microwave safe.
